Tamastslikt
It was great fun trying to throw the spear using the atlatl, only Mrs. Bonn's camera quit so not all of us got our picture taken. The museum showed the history of the Umatilla and Cayuse tribes. We got to see replicas of their homes, their foods, tools, and we even got to beat a drum. This is a great place to visit.
Blue Mountain Crossing
Mrs. McClure taught us many things about the pioneers who crossed the Blue Mountains. We got to walk in the ruts of the wagons, saw wild onions, and a possible grave. Mrs. Bonn tried to add music to the video, but didn't have success. Enjoy our pictures of a wonderful day learning about pioneers.

griddle cakes
Griddle cakes taste like hotcakes. Some people call them pancakes. Either way, it was fun pretending we were on the Oregon Trail where we got to make them. We also tried molasses and shook cream into butter. Some of us ate dried fruit too. Mrs. Hammond helped make sure we didn't burn ourselves. This was fun.

Grandparent's Day
Grandparent day was the final event of our grandparent letter writing project. We wrote five letters during the year and they wrote back to us. On this day, we shared some poems, played at recess, compared our lives as 10 year olds, and ate lunch. We're planning to keep those letters for years to come. This has been a great project.
field day presenters
We had a science field day about living things. The presenters were awesome. We learned about weeds, classifying plants, skulls, scat, and animal prints, insects, classifying animals, water health, water game, and fossils. The weather was great and we had a fun time learning about living things.

Beef Day
Every year the beef women come to our school to feed us a steak, potatoes, and bread dinner. They explain about the products beef produce besides their meat. They also explain the health benefits of eating beef. Some of the local beef producers donate beef to our lunch program. We are proud of the beef industry within Baker County that support our schools in many ways.
Music Program
Our music program was the Thursday before spring break. The music theme was pioneers where we sang songs about Johnny Appleseed, played Amazing Grace on our recorders, and danced two square dances. Everyone who watched said we did a nice job.

camouflage
Can you see the black threads? If you were a bird, what would you eat first, the camouflaged black or the blue?
parts of plants
Do you know the parts of a plant? We looked at the reproductive parts of a flowering plant. This was part of our unit of classifying plants.
